Your Physiotherapy Plan

Does your neck, back, shoulder or elbow pain stop you from reaching your full potential? Are you recovering from a fracture or surgery?

Whether it has been two months or two years since your repair/injury, I will provide you with a complete examination and determine the most effective way to get you back to an improved quality of life.

Walking to the corner store, doing household chores should be easy and comfortable for your body. Your exercise program will condition you so that “day to day” activities feel easy. The potential of the human body is amazing and can always be improved whether your 14 or 94!

Work With the Right Health Care Professional

My name is Margaret Martin I am a Registered Physiotherapist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). I have over 25 years of experience helping clients achieve their health goals. As a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA), the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) I stay current on the best Physiotherapy treatment and training approaches.

I have extensive experience in addressing these needs from years working in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, community clinics as well as within industrial settings. I can take you beyond your acute rehabilitation to your fullest potential.

I do not use ultrasound, lasers, interferential or acupuncture. Over the years I have learned that most people need time with a Therapist to better understand their own bodies. I take the time educate you about your body. All sessions with me are one hour in length and one-on-one.

This program does not limit itself to the gym or to the 20 minutes of exercise you do at home. This program is about becoming aware of how you carry yourself, how you sit, how you stand, how you perform your day-to-day activities.
I teach you how to avoid aggravating the sprain or strain and then build you up to be the best you can be. I use my hands to guide your movement, do trigger point work, active stretching, mobilization and massage when needed.

My combined training (as a Physiotherapist and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) means that you have a trained medical professional who has a comprehensive understanding of physical conditioning to guide you through your exercise program and ensure that you meet your goals while avoiding nasty “flare ups”.

My experience and training includes:
  • Muscle Imbalance Retraining
    • Recovering from joint strains/sprains
    • Recovering from a fracture or surgery
    • Recovering from a mild strokes or head injury
    • Joint restrictions
    • Muscle tightness
    • Balance testing and training
    • Posture retraining
    • Exercise Programs specific for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
I would not recommend myself if you are looking for someone to assist you with chronic pain, pelvic floor retraining, vestibular rehabilitation, TMJ issues or very acute sprains or strains (within 2 weeks of injury).

But if you want to achieve your full potential and your fitness goals, and are being held back because you have not found someone who understands your medical condition and is knowledgeable in exercise and fitness, then I think we can be successful together.

Play is more fun when it is pain free! I help you get the Fun back into Function and Fit back into Fitness!

When is the Best Time to Start?

Now!

The sooner you start a comprehensive exercise program, the sooner you will recover from your injury.
